The website of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been hacked.

This ugly incident occurred around 12 noon on a day the Commission is organising Nigeria’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

Meanwhile, the Commission has reacted swiftly to the incident. According to a tweet via its Twitter handle: @Inecnigeria, the commission said: “We are aware of the recent hack of our website, we are currently investigating this incident”.

The hackers who claimed to be the Nigerian Cyber Army left a message for INEC and Nigerians on the hacked website. The screenshot capture of the message is posted below:
