The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the majority of the vacant positions in the bye-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission across the country on Saturday, June 20, 2026, to fill vacant seats in the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly.
The commission conducted the elections as a necessity following a series of deaths and political appointments that left several constituencies without representation in the National and State Houses of Assembly.

The death of Senator Okey Ezea created a vacancy in the Enugu North Senatorial District seat. The seat in Nasarawa North became vacant following the death of Senator Godiya Akwashiki, while the death of Senator Barinada Mpigi left Rivers South-East without representation in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
The Zuru State Constituency seat in Kebbi State became vacant after the death of the lawmaker representing the constituency in the State House of Assembly, while the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency seat in Kano State became vacant after the death of House of Representatives member Muhammad Hassan
Ondo South’s vacancy was created after Senator Jimoh Ibrahim resigned his seat following his appointment as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, which differed from the other states’ vacancies caused by the deaths of representatives.
