Claim: A viral image with a claim that APC supporters have opened a real filling station or that the APC officially owns/endorses it
Verdict: AI-generated
Background Story
Following a continuous surge in petroleum product prices in Nigeria and amidst claims by President Tinubu’s government that “petrol is now available and affordable,” an image on social media, including WhatsApp, is circulating with a claim that APC supporters have opened a real filling station or that the APC officially owns/endorses it.
The image also claims that the filling stations are dispensing fuel to APC supporters at discounted prices ranging from ₦225.00 to ₦230.00 and ₦250.00 for fuel, diesel, and kerosene, respectively.
The image contains other related content showing available services such as lubricants & accessories, convenience stores, air & water, and restrooms. The inscription on the background shops shows “A convenience shop,” while several customers/workers and vehicles are depicted at the station, with additional text saying “Better Service For a Brighter Tomorrow” appearing on the left side.
The image has been published on Oamadike TV on Facebook, on X and Spy Nigeria.

Verification
NDRFactcheck investigated the image and its context and found that they are digitally created or digitally altered petrol station advertisements/mock-ups depicting an alleged “APC Supporters Filling Station.”
An image reverse search conducted shows that the image was posted and shared across social media platforms, and no credible news media published it, suggesting it is a social media digital creation.
NDRFactcheck digitally verified the authenticity of the image using isfake.ai, the result scored the graphic at an 82% probability of being AI-generated, as indicated.
Image analysed with isfake.ai
Detailed analysis indicates that the image does not look like a photograph of a clearly identifiable existing petrol station. The composition, branding, unusually generic setting, and highly polished appearance are consistent with a graphic illustration/AI-generated or digitally manipulated image.
Furthermore, the APC logo and the words “APC Supporters Filling Station” do not establish, by themselves, that such a filling station is owned, operated, endorsed, or officially affiliated with the APC.
In summary, the claim that an “APC Supporters Filling Station” exists and sells fuel at reduced prices is false. The image is an AI-generated digital creation, and no such physical station or discount programme exists.
