At the time of writing, the post had received 92 likes, 3,667 comments, and 34 reshares and had drawn strong criticism from users who disagreed with the claim.
The claim, circulated days before the state election, could mislead voters and heighten political tensions.
NDRFactcheck dives into the claim to provide accurate information on whether it is Osun State or not?
Verification
Through a reverse image search on Google, NDRFactcheck found that the video was of a construction site in Africa called Garbon.
A politician’s upcoming visit prompted the renovation of the country’s road.
The caption in the video reads “Workers in Gabon were filmed spreading a black substance over a dirt road ahead of an impending visit from a politician.”
In a separate post on 8th August, 2026, it was found that the road was actually in Gabon; this work was done due to a politician’s visit to the country.
Conclusion
From the investigation, we were able to establish that the video of road construction found linked to Osun State under the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke is misleading
