As the state-level elections hold on April 11, 2015, institutional stakeholders including the electoral management body (INEC), the security forces, the National Orientation Agency, the political parties, the media, civil society, youth groups, religious groups and the electorate have been urged to build consensus towards ensuring that the April 11, 2015 State level elections in Lagos is credible and violence free.
This was the outcome of a multi-stakeholder’ parley by the International Press Centre (IPC), Lagos as part of an election and democratic governance project tagged: Strengthening Citizens’ Engagement in Electoral Processes (SCEEP) being implemented in ten (10) States by ACTIONAID Nigeria, with the support of UKAID through The Department for International Development (DFID).
