An X user @Ojay147 on the 8th November, 2025, posted a picture of a man with a head injury, attributing it to the ongoing election.

The post, which has a caption, “#Anambradecides2025

The timing of the publication, during electioneering, suggests a breakout of violence, which could trigger a negative reaction from citizens and heighten tension. The introduction of violence can stir up controversy and lead to mistrust in the process. The claim has garnered a series of immediate reactions. Hence, NDRFactcheck investigated the veracity of the claim.

Verification

Using the Google reverse image search shows that the picture was first posted by IgbereTv in 2018, where a supporter of APGA chieftain was attacked and injured following a crisis within the party. here, and here.

 

Conclusion

NDRFactCheck confirms that this is an old picture used to depict a current situation in Anambra on election day and therefore, misleading.
