The Stop Impunity Nigeria (S.I.N) Campaign has announced its Third Quarterly “Week of Action Against Impunity (WAAI)” for 2014 with the theme: “Patriotism, Ethics and Civic Responsibility”.
The programme which seeks to engage citizens all over the country, can be joined on Twitter via hashtags #WAAI #PERC from Monday, 22 September to Friday, September 26, 2014 between 11.00am to 1.00pm each day.

S.I.N plans to engage citizens on four key messages which are:
-Government and government institutions have a duty to be accountable to citizens and must strive to be responsive to citizens’ demand for accountability
-Citizens should be patriotic and should live up to their civic duties, including paying of taxes regularly, so they can stand on solid ground in demanding accountability.
-Citizens should be active participants in the governance process by engaging government and demanding transparency, using all available legal and constitutional framework and mechanisms.
-Citizens have a duty to share information and intelligence with security agencies in order to enhance common interest in security.

The conveners of the campaign urge members of the public to join the discussion on Twitter to share their perspectives, comments, questions and suggestions.
The programme supported by Ford Foundation and the Justice for All (J4A) Programme of the UK Department for International Development (DFID), has Human Development Initiative (HDI), Community Life Project (CLP), Media Right Agenda (MRA) and Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) as implementing organizations.
