In a viral post on Facebook on 7th November, 2025, Michael Chibuzo claimed that two Soludo mayors were caught with a sum of 750 million naira each in cash; this is coming amid the ongoing off-cycle election. The post reads, “Two of Soludo’s mayors were caught with N750 million cash each. Amuneke has wrecked Anambra’s treasury!”
Ndrfactcheck investigated the veracity of this claim.
Verification
NDRFactCheck reached out to the Anambra State Police Command Control Room through the telephone number available; it was refuted that anything of such was reported, and the Police didn’t get any information of any such arrest.
A search was conducted on Google to check for the same report on any reputable media, but none reported the incident. Therefore, NDRFactCheck could not establish the story beyond the Facebook account.
The claim is adjudged to be false and intended to tarnish the image of a candidate in the election.
